In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the biggest news of the year had to be that Guardians of the Galaxy would be appearing in The Avengers: Infinity Wars.
If you’re a fan of either of the teams (or both), you don’t have to wait until 2018 to see them team up.
When the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series returns to Disney XD on Saturday, March 11 (9/8C), the one-hour premiere will find the Guardians teaming with the Avengers to save Star-Lord’s home planet (which would be the Earth) from ‘an alien mad scientist, The High Evolutionary.’
Leading up to the second season premiere of GotG, Disney XD will also stream a series of six shorts featuring the show’s main characters beginning on February 27th on the Disney XD app, VOD and Disney XD’s YouTube.
Marvel Studios has begun principal photography at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, on Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which is slated to hit U.S. theaters on May 5, 2017. The production will shoot at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios.
After careful consideration – and with some trepidation – I’ve finally put together my final list of my favorite movies from 2014. It was the first time in a long while that I saw more than 200 movies and a lot of them were incredibly good (a lot were incredibly bad, or boring, but I’ve already dealt with those).
As usual, these are the films that got me laughing, crying, engaged in conversations and generally made my brain fizz in a good way. As usual, anyone who says it was a crap year for movies just wasn’t paying attention.
Also note that two movies – Selma and Boyhood (despite their importance in terms of history and/or unique concepts) did not make my favorites list – not because they were bad films. They were not. They were very, very good ones. They just didn’t connect with me as much as these twenty did.
