POP SUPERSTAR KENNY LOGGINS JOINS REIMAGINED ALTER EGO CHERLENE (JUDY GREER) TO HEADLINE

Duet on Danger Zone tune will also be featured in new Loggins/Cherlene world premiere video to debut in Archer’s 6th episode of Season 5 on March 3

LOS ANGELES, February 6, 2014 – In one of the most exciting developments in FX history – if not world history – the network’s award-winning animated half-hour comedy smash Archer is spawning a 12-track album, “Cherlene,” featuring original music, which will be released on all digital platforms on Monday, March 3.

The album will be highlighted by a duet with Cherlene and pop music icon Kenny Loggins. Cherlene is the reimagined alter ego of Archer’s Cheryl Tunt, also referred to as Carol Tunt. She and Loggins join forces to put all of their stunning musical talents on display in the previously-released song Danger Zone (also a favorite Sterling Archer catchphrase). A world premiere video of the tune will play in Episode 6 of Archer’s fifth season the night of March 3. Season 5 of the series launched on January 13 at 10 PM ET/PT, marking the show’s move to a new night.

Another word about Cherlene: She has long been known as both Cheryl and Carol, the loquacious secretary to Malory Archer (Jessica Walter). Wealthy, maniacal, not altogether well, she is renowned for becoming sexually aroused from being choked and enjoys sniffing and drinking rubber cement. But all bets are now off in her evolution to Cherlene – particularly after dueting with Loggins.

The new CD will feature three new songs original to Archer and previously unreleased, including It’s All About Me, I’ll Burn it Down and Gypsy Woman. Other songs include Chattahoochie Coochie Man, Midnight Blues, Straight to Hell, 40 Miles of Mountain Road, Swing Shift (formerly titled Coming Round Again), Cherlene’s Broken Hearts & Auto Parts (formerly titled Broken Hearts & Auto Parts), East Bound & Down, Baby Please Don’t Go, and Danger Zone. All are produced by Kevn Kinney and feature vocals by Jessy Lynn Martens, with Loggins joining on Danger Zone.

The Archer album will be distributed across digital platforms including Apple iTunes, Amazon Digital Services Inc., eMusic, Google Music, MediaNet, Nokia, Rhapsody, SoundCloud, Spotify, Touchtunes, YouTube and many others.

Archer has grown to become the highest-rated comedy series on FX and routinely won its time period last season in delivery of adults 18-34. It resolves around the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS) and the lives of its employees. Although their work of espionage, reconnaissance missions, wiretapping and undercover surveillance is daunting and dangerous, every covert operation and global crisis is actually just another excuse for the ISIS staff to undermine, sabotage and betray each other for personal gain.

The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Adam Reed, and Lucky Yates. Archer was created by Adam Reed who also serves as Executive Producer alongside executive producer Matt Thompson and their Floyd County Productions, which animates the series.

Archer is produced by FX Productions. FX has ordered 13 episodes for the show’s fifth season.
