I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if Thor was Marvel’s Superman: The Movie, then Captain America: The First Avenger is its Raiders of the Lost Ark! And if the movie was splendid in 3D, it doesn’t lose much – if anything – in translation to 2D.

Thor’s DVD Release Great Fun But Lacking Agent Coulson Short!
One of the biggest movies of the year – in terms of grand, epic fun – Thor gets a DVD release that provides one thing I always enjoy [a terrific commentary track by director Kenneth Branagh] but lacks the one thing I was most hoping to see: a promised short feature built around S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent […]
X-Men First Class – First Class Movie; Third Class Features!
X-Men: First Class is, for the most part, smart, focused and well thought out. While it deals primarily with the friendship between future enemies Charles Xavier [James McAvoy] and Erik Lensherr [Michael Fassbender] – better known as Professor X and Magneto – it also serves up an unnerving villain and a group of intriguing young […]

Showtime canceled United States of Tara – the series about the dysfunctional family with the matriarch who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder – after seeing its third season ratings plummet. This is a shame because the series was far better than the inexplicably more popular Nurse Jackie. Thus, all though it doesn’t get a proper […]
Rio 2-Disc DVD Is Just Packed With Laughs; Extras!
Rio, from director Carlos Saldanha [the Ice Age Trilogy], is a fun romp in Rio de Janeiro at Carnivale time. The DVD comes with a surprising bounty of extras [thanks for remembering the majority of us who haven’t gone high-def, Fox Home Entertainment!].
Trust – Little Seen, Important Film Gets DVD Release!
There have been movies that have dealt with the aftereffects of rape before – even of minors – but none have examined those aftereffects as deeply as David Schwimmer’s Trust.
