Resident Evil: Extinction Is Not Bad. Michelle Alexandria’s Review!

Resident Evil Extinction Review

I’m a gamer and have covered the game industry for as long as I covered the film industry and just like the film industry I have a tendency to go my own way and be contrarian. When the Resident Evil series first launched and everyone raved about the game, I was the lone voice that intensely disliked it. And up until Resident Evil 4 (a near perfect game), I’ve never liked the Resident Evil Series. But it’s interesting that while I never particularly cared for the games, I really dug the films – which admittedly most people hate, primarily because it’s different enough from the games, but still pays homage to them. For instance I marked out to the ending of the first Resident Evil because it was an exact replica of the game trailer for RE2. And hey I just like Milla Jovovich (Alice) so sue me. DC Peeps, Be the first to see The Brave One!

The Brave One Film Screening Courtesy of our friends at Warner Brothers, you can attend the Washington, DC Advanced screening of one of the most anticipated films of the Fall – Jodie Foster’s revenge flick, The Brave One. This film looks like a remake of the old Charles Bronson Death Wish films which I used to love. The DC Screening will be held next Monday, September 10th at our super secret posh screening location. To win, ready the synopsis below (which I stole, um borrowed, yeah that’s it, from Yahoo Movies) and follow the painfully simple contest rules.

Christian Bale Breaks His Silence on Dark Knight!

Christian Bale Talks Dark KnightChristian Bale has been loathe to talk about the upcoming Dark Knight film, primarily due to contract clauses. At a recent press day for Rescue Dawn, they told us Bale didn't want to talk about Dark Knight or his weight loss. I quipped, "then, what's the point of the interview?" But as always if you phrase the questions just so, you can get some tidbits. Christian confirmed that he hasn't started shooting Dark Knight Yet and that he'll be starting in the next few weeks. He's looking forward to working with Heath Ledger and going back. He said he didn't have to do as much rigorous fight training this time around because he went through it last time and the producers know he has the mad skills. He also admitted that having a franchise character in his pocket allows him more freedom to do other projects and that Rescue Dawn probably got the financing quicker due to his involvement with the Batman franchise. The studio asked us to hold our coverage until closer to July. But I'll be dropping some tantalizing tidbits from the day over the next few days.

The Punisher Teaser Appears Before The Hulk! First Look at the Official Poster!!

Damn my stupid ethics! I’ve been sitting on this news for a week, because those folks at Artisan didn’t want this announced until Thursday. My question is, what’s the point? But hey, it’s the Punisher! So here’s the scoop, a Teaser for the New Punisher Movie is attached to the Incredible Hulk! We even scored one of the first looks at the new poster.

—————————————————————————————————–Marvel’s unstoppable vigilante THE PUNISHER hits the screen in a new action thriller that introduces a comic book hero unlike any other. The Punisher brings to the screen one of Marvel’s top-selling solo comic books and a marquee character whose popularity parallels that of Marvel stars X-Men and the Fantastic Four. The Punisher walks through the world we all know, a world darkened by war, crime, cruelty, and injustice. He has no superpowers to battle the evil he sees – only his fierce intelligence, his years of combat experience and, above all, his iron determination to avenge the wronged. The Punisher marks the directorial debut of Jonathan Hensleigh, renowned screenwriter of genre blockbusters The Rock, Armageddon and Die Hard: With a Vengeance. Thomas Jane (Dreamcatcher, The Thin Red Line) stars in the title role, squaring off against superstar John Travolta (Pulp Fiction, Face/Off) as the story’s formidable villain. The film will be produced by Marvel Studios’ CEO Avi Arad (The Hulk, Spider-Man, X-Men) and producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Hulk, Aliens, Terminator2).
