The 71st Tony Awards nominations were announced this morning – with Natasha, Pierre & The Great comet garnering twelve nods including Best Musical.
Other impressive showings include: Hell, Dolly! (10), Dear Evan Hansen (9), A Doll’s House Part 2 (8) and Groundhog Day: The Musical (7).

Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award-Winning Actor Kevin Spacey Will Host the 2017 Tony Awards for the First Time
NEW YORK – Tony Award nominations were announced today for THE 71st ANNUAL TONY AWARDS®, airing live on Sunday, June 11 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Nominations were announced live on CBS THIS MORNING by actor Chris Jackson and actress Jane Krakowski. “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” leads the nominations this year, with nominations in 12 categories.
As previously announced, Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey will host the 2017 Tony Awards for the first time, live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
Nominees for THE 71st ANNUAL TONY AWARDS® were selected by an independent committee of 47 theater professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2017 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The list of nominations follows.

This year marks the 71st anniversary of the Tony Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.
Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers. Weiss will also serve as director for the 18th consecutive year.
