TELEVISION: Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to Host 2010 Oscars!
November 4th, 2009 · Posted by: Sheldon A. Wiebe in TelevisionBill Mechanic and Adam Shenkman, producers of the 82nd Academy Awards® show have selected Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin to co-host the biggest event in the film industry. Clearly, the Hollywood Foreign Press lit a fire under their butts with their selection of Ricky Gervais as host for the 2010 Golden Globes.
Baldwin has shown his comedic abilities as Jack Donaghy, the egocentric boss on 30 Rock, while Martin is a groundbreaking comedian-actor-writer-musician who has already hosted the Oscars® twice before – for their 73rd and 75th years.
“I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy, Alec Baldwin,” said Martin.
“I don’t play the banjo, but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars – it’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Baldwin.
The Oscars for 2009 will be presented on Sunday, March 7, 2010 and televised by the ABC Television Network.
