Jon Favreau’s The Lion King Announces All-Star Cast!

Take a quick look at the phot above. Is there anyone you recognize The better question might be, is there anyone you don’t recognize?

Walt Disney Studios has announced the cast for Jon Favreau’s live-action take on The Lion King – and there are just a few names that will ring a few bells (or, in this case, roar). Frankly the only three who aren’t stars (yet) are the kids playing Young Simba and Young Nala and young woman playing Shenzi. Expect that to change shortly.

Disney’s The Lion King is slated to premiere on July 19, 2019.

Production has begun on Walt Disney Studios’ live-action musical Aladdin, starring Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, and Marwan Kenari as Jafar.

Aladdin is directed by Guy Ritchie.

Countdown to Force Friday II Begins!

Disney and Lucasfilm today kicked off the countdown to Force Friday II, the global event celebrating the launch of the products from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with an AR surprise for Star Wars fans around the world.

Fans within a mile of 20 global landmarks simply open the Star Wars App, select Find the Force and point their phone to the sky to see a short augmented reality scene unfold. The 10-second animation shows a Star Destroyer loom over key landmarks as two TIE Fighters shoot past into the distance.

GOTTA FLY – Visionary filmmaker Tim Burton helms the live-action reimagining of Disney’s 1941 animated classic Dumbo and is currently in production in England. © 2017 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Production is underway on Tim Burton’s live-action remimaging of Disney’s 1941 classic, Dumbo.

The film Stars Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Eva Green – and introduces Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins.

Dumbo is slated to premiere on March 29th, 2019.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – Bits of It Are Entertaining!

The opening sequence of Dead Men Tell No Tales finds young Henry (Lewis McGowan) rowing out to sea, tying a bag of rocks to his leg and plunging into the sea – where he lands on the deck of the sunken Flying Dutchman and we learn that he is the son of Will Turner (Orlando Bloom).

From there we shift to Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and his crew robbing a bank – an effort that takes a hilarious path.

It’s a true pity that the rest of the movie couldn’t have been as inventive.
