USA Network’s original hit series, Psych premiere’s its fourth season this Friday August 7th at 10/9c. Recently I had a chance to participate in a group interview with the stars of the show James Roday and Dulé Hill to discuss the new season, some funny pop culture references and whatever craziness lives in the minds of this funny and talented duo.

EM: You’ve both played very different characters in other things. I know that Mr. Roday had actually played alongside to Maggie Lawson in Fear Itself and Mr. Dulé you had a wonderful part on WEST WING for a while. So how do you feel now about playing comedy? Do you enjoy it better; do you like doing horror or drama more? How does it feel?

Dulé Hill: I actually enjoy comedy; it’s a lot of fun. After doing seven years of drama on WEST WING to be able to come and work with Roday and the rest of the cast has been a blast. It’s something different, especially working with Roday where he likes to improv a lot it challenges me to work on different muscles that I haven’t used before.

James Roday: Well, first of all I just want to thank you for reminding me that I did in fact appear in Fear Itself; I often forget that. Secondly, I would say I’ve actually done a lot more comedy than I’ve done drama. It’s weird the way that worked out, because when I came out of theater school I took myself way too seriously, so it’s kind of ironic that I ended up sort of going down the comedy path.

Mark Feuerstein is Hank Lawson in the new USA Network original series ROYAL PAINS, which premieres tonight, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 10/9c, immediately following the hit series BURN NOTICE (at its new time, 9/8c). Recently I had a chance to visit the set of ROYAL PAINS to meet the cast and had the pleasure of chatting with Mark to discus his new role.

EclipseMagazine:    So, should we just start with you telling us about your character?

Mark Feuerstein: Sure. That’s an easy way to begin. All right. So, I am playing Hank Lawson. And my character is, at the beginning of the pilot, a doctor in an ER in Brooklyn. And he’s playing hoops with a bunch of neighborhood kids. And one of them drops down.

I guess the conflict of Hank is that he’s somewhat—I mean there’s one thing that you don’t know from the pilot, which is that in his past, his father lost all the family money in the stock market. And they had to downsize from a nice house in maybe Passaic, New Jersey to a little two-bedroom apartment, and so money is fraught for Hank. And so now he’s got to take care of rich people while resenting them too.

Recently I had the destinct pleasure of chatting with Broadway legend and all around spectacular performer Christine Ebersole to discuss her lates endevor on USA’s new original series “Royal Pains”, premiereing this Thursday June 4th at 10/9c.

EclipseMagazine: So, we’ll just start with talking about your character, a little bit about your character.

Christine Ebersole: My character, does anybody know my character’s first name?

EM: I don’t think we have a first name yet.

CE: Isn’t that fantastic! My character doesn’t have a first name. It’s just Mrs. Newberg.

EM: Maybe she’s never known it.

CE: Isn’t that great? Yeah, I think it’s like—it’s like Mr. Big, right?

EM: Yes.

CE: Fantastic! It could just be any number of possibilities. So, what did you ask me?

EM: Just to talk about your character a little bit.

CE: Yes, it’s Mrs. Newberg, and I’m very rich and live in the Hamptons, probably just for the summer. I have other residences, but they’re somewhat—some of them are undisclosed at this point. So, I have a house in the Hamptons in the summertime, and I’m a grandmother of a 22-year-old. That’s showbiz. Yeah, I’m a grandmother of a 22-year-old. And you know, in the first episode—did you see it? Did everybody see it?

EM: Yeah.

CE: Was it good?

The USA Network has high hopes for its new medical series with a twist, Royal Pains [Thursdays, 10/9C]. I had the opportunity to take part on a teleconference Q&A session with the series’ star, Mark Feuerstein. He talked about, among other things, why he chose to take the role of Dr. Hank Lawson, and what Royal Pains has in common with USA’s other programs.
