Sugar and spice and everything nice… and a dash of chemical X! Yes, The Powerpuff Girls are back!
Today, Cartoon Network unveiled a first look at the all-new series, The Powerpuff Girls, featuring the original arbiters of girl power; Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup.
Slated to premiere this spring, the reimagined series from Cartoon Network Studios is about three girls juggling school and saving the world before bedtime. Check out the key art for the new series after the jump.
“Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice…plus a dash of mysterious Chemical X” were the essential ingredients that created Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup—also known as The Powerpuff Girls. So began the tale of The Powerpuff Girls – an Emmy-winning animated series created by Craig McCracken that recently celebrated its 15-year anniversary on the Cartoon Network.
On January 20th (The Cartoon Network, 7:30/6:30C), Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup return in a GCI special, Dance Pantsed, and, once again, have to save the world before bedtime. How is kidnapping a mathematician, and opera singer and a badger going to help Mojo Jojo steal Chemical X? That is the question.
The original PPG cast – Catherine Cavadini (Blossom), Tara Strong (Bubbles), E.G. Daily (Buttercup), Roger L. Jackson (Mojo Jojo), Tom Kane (The Professor) and Tom Kenny (The Mayor) – is joined by the one and only Ringo Starr as Fibonacci Sequins, Townsville’s most famous mathematician. Starr also sings I Wish I Was a Powerpuff Girl. For further details, check out the press release after the jump.
