NBC begins rolling out its fall 2014 schedule on Thursday, September 4th when Sunday Night football returns with Seattle hosting Green Bay. Three days later Indian visits Denver, following the season premiere of Football Night in America.
Monday, September 22nd brings the season premieres of The Blacklist and The Voice; Debra Messing’s working mom dramedy The Mysteries of Laura lands on the 24th; Parenthood’s final season premieres on the 25th, and new half-hour comedy, Marry Me debuts on October 14th. Grimm returns October 24th – leading into new supernatural series Constantine. Kate Walsh vehicle, Bad Judge premieres on October 2nd, and Katherine Heigl’s return to series TV, State of Affairs, premieres on November 17th.
As much as pilot season is maligned, it’s still the standard method of choosing which series go forward for most of network television. This morning, NBC announced pilot orders for one drama and one comedy pilot to go into production.
The drama pilot for State of Affairs brings Katherine Heigl back to television for her first shot at an ongoing series since Grey’s Anatomy. She is also an executive producer on the project along with Nancy Heigl, Alexi Hawley, Bob Simonds, Sophie Watts, Henry Crumpton, Julia Franz and Rodney Faraon.
The comedy pilot for Untitled Amy Poehler project (formerly Old Soul) stars Natasha Lyonne and is executive produced by Amy Poehler, Amy Poehler, Dave Becky, Jon Fener and Josh Bycel.
