Comic Con 2010: Spiderman Shattered Dimensions Final World Revealed – Ultimates (Shocking, I know)

Activision has revealed the fourth and final dimension for Spiderman Shattered Dimensions. It’s Ultimates, so the four different parts of the game include Current Universe, 2099, Noir and Ultimates. Everything I’ve seen from the game looks pretty amazing. I’m going to be spending a day with Activision in New York in a few weeks (ironically, on my birthday) and will have some live video and interviews about the game.

The Next Spider-Man/Peter Parker is….. Andrew Garfield!! Whaaaa? Who is this?

It’s official, Sony Pictures just sent over the press release announcing that Andrew Garfield is the next Peter Parker.  How do you go from Tobey Maguire to this guy? He looks too old for the part, since rumor has it’s going to be yet another origin story.  Who is this guy, you all ask? I have no clue. He was in The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus and he’s in several upcoming movies including something called The Social Network.  So I actually think it’s good that they went with an relative unknown for this, but he doesn’t look the part – maybe a post high school Spider-Man, then I could see it. I’m sure Sony is going to make a huge splash at Comic Con to roll this guy out. The full gushing press release is after the break.

Comic Books: Marvel Proclaims 2010 The Year of Spiderman!

I usually don’t post dumb teasers like this, but hey it’s a slow news week and I’m genuinely curious about what Marvel has planned for Spiderman in 2010. Every since that dumb retcon a couple of years ago, I have to admit Spiderman has been on a roll lately, I still think he should get back together with M.J. Marvel sent along this little teaser but what does it all mean? I found it odd that Spiderman (except for a couple of one shots and the 5 part American Son arc) didn’t have much to do with all the Dark Reign sillyness (which is why the book has remained good), when you consider if anyone should take down Norman Osborn and end his Dark Reign it should be Spiderman and if he does, how would that affect his standing in the Marvel U?
