Breaking Bad: The Complete Series

Somehow the entire Breaking Bad phenomena escaped me so I’m really looking forward to catching the Breaking Bad: The Complete Series Blu-ray. Sony Home Video has put together a pretty amazing sounding package that includes over 55 HOURs of extras and the set even comes with a digital copy of the full series.  That ain’t bad.  The full press release is after the break.

Legion is a nice Blu-ray set for a bad movie. Michelle’s Review!

Legion Blu-ray Review

I wanted to see this movie in the theater but the trailers turned me off and I just couldn’t get excited enough to go to one of the advanced screenings. I love the idea of this movie – I mean how can you not like Evil Angels who want to bring on the Apocalypse? Director Scott Stewart does a fantastic job with his Picture in Picture commentary he provides really nice detail on what he was thinking while filming certain scenes and we learn a bit about how the SFX were put together. I much prefer picture in picture commentary to boring audio tracks any day. I’m glad to see Sony Home Video start to implement this mode.

Watcha Gonna Do when Bad Boys Goes Blu-ray?

One of my favorite action movies and one the trio of films that turned Will Smith into a Superstar, Bad Boys finally comes to Blu-ray June 1st. The Disc will include Sony’s Movie IQ thing that I kind of dig, 3 music videos, a commentary track from Michael Bay, and a Documentary – Putting the Boom and Bang in Bad Boys. At first blush it doesn’t seem like this package looks kind of weak, but it should look pretty amazing on Blu-ray.  I’m still disappointed that Sony doesn’t put more effort into it’s Blu-ray releases, it’s their format so I expect a lot more from them than I do from someone like Fox Home Video. But it’s, Bad Boys, Bad Boys….

Michelle Says 2012 Blu-ray is Worth your Time, not your Money

I love director Roland Emmerich. I know most critics hate watching summer blockbusters because they lack “substance.” Me, I go to the movies to escape and be entertained. I don’t want to think or be depressed. 2012 was one of my favorite movies last year and yes I even teared up a bit, yes I know I’m an easy mark. Coming from the man who brought us Independence Day, you would think the SFX would be off the chain, but they aren’t. To make matters worse they use the same stunt/gag four times – it’s the “Oh, no will the plane take off or land before disaster strike.”

Here’s a Sneak Peak at next week’s 2012 Blu-ray Release

One of my favorite movies from last year, 2012, is coming to Blu-ray next week. This is a big, dumb, but fun Sci-Fi flick from the man who brought us Independence Day. Director Roland Emmerich is a technical director, so I fully expect this to be a showcase Blu-ray release. The Blu-ray will include something called “Roland’s Vision: Picture-in-Picture” and the BD-Live™ enabled movieIQ, which allows viewers to immediately access updated trivia on the film’s cast, crew, production and soundtrack – all while watching the movie.

Also, only available on the 2-Disc Blu-ray is the “Interactive Mayan Calendar” feature, along with the production featurettes “Mysteries of the Mayan Calendar,” “Designing the End of the World,” “Science Behind the Destruction,” “The End of the World: The Actor’s Perspective,” “Countdown to the Future” and Making the Music Video “Time For Miracles” with Adam Lambert. The 2-Disc Blu-ray also includes a Digital Copy for PSP, PC, Mac & iPod. Check out some clips after the break.
