Starz’s new half-hour comedy series Survivor’s Remorse follows a young basketball phenom named Cam Calloway as he negotiates his rise to NBA stardom while dealing with the emotional consequences of managing to get out of the ‘hood.
Starz has released the first teaser for the series, which premieres on Saturday, October 4th. Check it out after the jump.
Jessie T. Usher (above left) has landed the role of Cam Calloway in Starz’s half-hour scripted comedy series Survivors’ Remorse – about a a basketball phenom who signs a huge contract with a professional team in Atlanta and has to deal with all the good and bad that comes with sudden, high-profile success.
Ronreaco Lee (center left) will play Cam’s best friend and confidant, Reggie Vaughn; Erica Ash is M-Chuck, Cam’s sister; and Tichina Arnold above right) plays Cam’s mother, Cassie. They join previously cast Teyonah Parris (center right), who nabbed the role of Reggie’s wife, Missy.

When I heard that there was going to be a movie revealing key events in the past of Burn Notice’s Sam Axe, I was stoked. Bruce Campbell’s Axe is a source of much of the subversive wit and spirit of the hit USA Network series. Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe [Sunday, 9/8C], though mostly enjoyable, is not quite what I was expecting.
