The Producers Guild of america has announced that it will award Loving – the story of interracial couple Richard and Mildred Loving’s fight to be together as a married couple in their hometown – the Stanley Kramer Award.
The Stanley Kramer Award is given to honor a production, producer or other individuals whose achievement or contribution illuminates and raises public awareness of important social issues.

The seventh annual Produced By Conference presented by the Producer’s Guild of America (PGA) occurred May 30-31, 2015, and was hosted by Paramount Pictures in Hollywood. It brought together the best of Hollywood in film, television, and digital. Lee Daniels,Tyler Perry, Kevin Smith, Brian Grazer, Eva Longoria, and Reese Witherspoon are but a few of the names that came to speak to producers from all over the world. See more after the jump.

The 2012 Producers Guild nominees for movies include such previous award winners The Artist, The Help, and Hugo, while Terrence Malik’s The Tree of Life is curiously absent.
Among the usual suspects in television drama and comedy are: A Modern Family, 30 Rock, Mad Men and [surprisingly, given its critical freefall this season] Dexter.
