Road to San Diego Day 8: BOOM! Studios and Nickelodeon Announce Partnership!

BOOM! Studios and Nickelodeon have announced a new partnership that gives BOOM! Studios the right to adapt the network’s animated show from the ’90s for comic books and graphic novels.

The first title under the new partnership will be Rugrats, by writer Box Brown and artist Lisa Dubois.

Rugrats is slated for release on October 18th.

Mythic Trailer: Legends of the Hidden Temple!

Remember when Nickelodeon dominated kids/tweens TV with offbeat shows and witty and original game shows?

Of course you do.

Now Nick is bringing back one of its best-loved game shows as movie – Legends of the Hidden Temple!  Legends of the Hidden Temple finds three siblings seeking, and stumbling onto/into a legendary lost temple for a kind of mini-Indiana Jones-type adventure.

The trailer, which follows the jump – has kind of ‘goofy summer fun’ charm. Check it out. Legends of the Hidden Temple is coming to Nickelodeon this fall.

The Last Airbender: Book One: Water – It’s Not as Bad as Lady in the Water!

THE LAST AIRBENDER

The question is this: how does one adapt over four hundred minutes of story from twenty episodes of an excellent animated series into a one hundred-minute movie? The answer is, apparently, not very well. A slightly less pressing question might be: why did anyone think a hastily applied 3D conversion would help this muddled excuse for a fantasy epic in any conceivable way? That one I couldn’t tell you.
