Remember when Nickelodeon dominated kids/tweens TV with offbeat shows and witty and original game shows?
Of course you do.
Now Nick is bringing back one of its best-loved game shows as movie – Legends of the Hidden Temple! Legends of the Hidden Temple finds three siblings seeking, and stumbling onto/into a legendary lost temple for a kind of mini-Indiana Jones-type adventure.
The trailer, which follows the jump – has kind of ‘goofy summer fun’ charm. Check it out. Legends of the Hidden Temple is coming to Nickelodeon this fall.
With its awesome animation and vivid colors, Rango is flashy enough to amuse kids [who won’t understand much of it] – but its sophisticated storytelling and references make it a joy for serious film buffs.
The question is this: how does one adapt over four hundred minutes of story from twenty episodes of an excellent animated series into a one hundred-minute movie? The answer is, apparently, not very well. A slightly less pressing question might be: why did anyone think a hastily applied 3D conversion would help this muddled excuse for a fantasy epic in any conceivable way? That one I couldn’t tell you.
