Despite moving into darker dramatic realms, TNT is maintaining its balance between darker and lighter with the renewal of The Librarians (the lighter), Murder in the First (the darker) and Major Crimes (somewhere in the middle).
Ian Anthony Dale stars as “Lieutenant Jim Koto”, head of the San Francisco PD homicide unit in TNT’s new crime drama “Murder In The First”, which premiered June 9th. Ian is no stranger to crime drama. He played Adam Noshimuri in “Hawaii Five-O” as well as role of detective in “Criminal Minds” and “Day Break”. Some of his noteable tv credits include “The Event”, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”, “Surface,” “American Horror Story”. His film credits include “The Hangover”, “Tekken”, “Mr. 3000”, and “The Bucket List”.
The talented Ian joins Eclipse Magazine to talk about TNT’s new summer drama “Murder In The First”.
Stephen Bochco’s Murder in the First has been greenlit by TNT. The scripted drama – from the man co-created Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, Murder One and TNT’s own Raising the Bar – is a procedural that will follow a single case each season. Centered on homicide detectives Terry English (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Morgan (Kathleen Robertson), the shows first case will involve the murder of an apparent drug addict with an unexpected connection to a Silicon Valley whiz kid.
The first season cast includes Tom Felton, Mimi Kirkland, Raphael Sbarge, Ian Anthony Dale, Bess Rous and Steven Weber. Murder in the First is slated to premiere in summer 2014. check out the press release after the jump.
