Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Has Landed and Blew Up XBox Live

Activision released their Modern Warfare 2: Stimulus Package today. So hurray, no more “Mapathy.” On the downside they are charging a ridiculous $15 for 5 Maps – two of which we’ve already played to death in Modern Warfare 1. But I do love me some Crash.  Not only that but people are reporting that this update actually broke XBox Live for awhile.  People weren’t able to login to XBLA.  It seems to be working itself out now. The Modern Warfare® 2 Stimulus Package can now be downloaded on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system for 1,200 Microsoft Points. To celebrate its release, Infinity Ward will host a Double XP weekend for Xbox LIVE gamers from April 2 – 4.  Why is it they always have live fire weekends when I’m out of town? More photos after the break.

E3 09 NEWS: Microsoft Throws it Down!

Microsoft Rocks E3

Today Microsoft took off their Gloves, walked up to Sony and Nintendo, slapped them across the face and said, in a British Accent, “Sir, I Challenge You to a Duel to the Death.” The Beatles, New Games including a Metal Gear game (Take that Sony), a Revamped Video Market Place, Social Networking added to Xbox Live and oh yeah a new Motion Controller (Take that Nintendo) the boys and girls at Microsoft kicked off E3 with a Bang at their annual song and dance. After this Brava performance I don’t think my man Reggie Reg or his girl Cammie can hit us with another Powerpoint infused Nintendo Press Conference.  Let’s go from the top:

VIDEO GAME NEWS: Guitar Hero Smash Hits New Tracks Announced!

Guitar Hero Smash Hits

Instead of giving us the ability to import songs from previous games into whatever current Guitar Hero is available the fine weasels at Activision are giving us a goofy greatest hits collection, called Guitar Hero: Smash Hits.  If I didn’t already own all the Guitar Heroes, this would be a cool package. But I do and I never play the older titles because it’s a pain in the but to try and figure out which track is on which disk, then change the disk to play one song. So now we have this. On the positive side all of these tracks will be redone so the charting should be better and we’ll have full band play. Activision is dragging out the announcement of the set list by having an online voting contest and revealing new tracks every Thursday.
