Slayer Turns Defense Attorney for Bull!

Eliza Dushku – best known for playing the Slayer Faith on Buffy the Vampire Slayer – is joining the cast of CBS freshman hit Bull (Tuesdays, 9/8C).

Dushku plays J.P. Nunnelly – the head of the best criminal defense firm in New York City. Her first appearance will be in the show’s May 9th episode.

Bull Is No Dr. Phil (And Thank Goodness)!

Bull (CBS, Tuesdays, 9/8C) is very, very loosely inspired by the cases of the young Dr. Phil McGraw and his consulting firm as a trial consulting psychologist  – cleverly updated for today’s technology. Michael Weatherly is the young Dr. Bull, a man with three PhDs in psychology and a team that will shape the conversation around a criminal trial to best effect – he uses mock juries, personal investigations, behavioral science and more.  He’s very good in the role.

In the premiere, he helps defend a rich kid who is accused of killing his girlfriend during a party where everyone overindulged in some way.

El Rey Marathons Dark Angel!

Beginning Friday, January 9th, El Rey will be marathoning the action sci-fi series Dark Angel, starring Jessica Alba.

Created by James Cameron – and starring Alba in her lead role – Dark Angel is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the genetically-enhanced Max Guevara (Alba) struggles to survive as government agents try to capture her and others like her for nefarious purposes.

El Rey plans to air all 43 of the series’ episodes. Alba and El Rey creator Robert Rodriguez will provide introductions. For details, follow the jump.
