One of the best signs that an actor is enjoying his job is when that actor turns a thirty-minute conference call into a ninety-minute one. Such was the case when I took part in the Sam Witwer conference call in support of Syfy’s newest scripted hit, Being Human [Mondays, 9/8C].
One of the interesting things about conference calls is that you always get a few questions about the subjects other work, so here we learn some interesting things – like how Witwer’s guest appearance on NCIS played a role in a part of the star Wars saga. All that plus, The Crashton!

Being Human [Syfy, Monday, 10/9C] is a re-imaging of a very good British series about three supernatural beings – a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf – who share an apartment. The Syfy version starts in the same place but then takes some very interesting – and different – directions. As someone who has seen the original, I found the American version to be different enough to be enjoyed on its own merits.

Syfy’s new supernatural series, Being Human, premiering on Monday [10/9C], is an American take on the British series of the same name – about three supernatural characters [a ghost, vampire and werewolf] that come to be sharing a house and trying to blend in with us normal folks.
On Wednesday, Syfy gave a number of bloggers/journalists a chance to talk with two of the show’s stars – Sam Huntington, who plays the werewolf, Josh, and Meagan Rath, who plays the ghost, sally – and the show’s executive directors/showrunners, Jeremy Carver and Anne Fricke.
The resulting session was highly entertaining and, occasionally, a bit silly. Check it out.
