Dynamite Entertainment and Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. are announcing a partnership with Lynnvander Studios to create the next phase in Tarzan’s legendary history; a new board game starring Tarzan, Jane, and the rest of his friends and foes as an epic, playable adventure.
Production on the Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle board game is currently near completion, with an expected shipping date of late 2018. The game will also debut at this year’s GenCon, in Indianapolis, where it will be available for demo with Lynnvander Studios.
Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle is available for pre-order through Kickstarter.
In an era when banks are loathe to make loans and wealthy investors are about as friendly as the “Shark Tank” gang, creative people are turning to the masses for support. Since filmmakers usually love to share their vision with anyone even half-interested, crowdfunding has become a useful vehicle to raise cash, even if it’s $10 at a time.
For less than a hundred clams, Rocki will turn your existing speakers into a “smart enabled” wifi setup. After running a successful Kickstarter campaign (raising over $200K in three weeks), Rocki founder/CEO Dennis List talks about their product, Kickstarter and more.
UPDATE: The Veronica Mars Movie Project has met its goal less than twelve hours after its Kickstarter campaign began. As I write this, it has reached $2,092,937. Looks like we’ll be seeing a Veronica Mars movie in 2014!
Earlier: Fans of cult fave TV series Veronicas Mars will be pleased (but not astonished) to learn that Veronica Mars The Movie is an official Kickstarter project. Series creator Rob Thomas has put together a plan to persuade Warner Brothers to make the movie – by crowd sourcing it. The goal is to reach a minimum two million dollar budget in thirty days. The Kickstarter campaign has only just begun – and with thirty days to go, sits just over the halfway mark (seriously – it was at $1,018,420 when I wrote this).
