Snowfall, the FX series about the beginnings of the crack epidemic in Los Angels, has been picked up for a second season thanks to a combination of critical acclaim and ratings.
The series – from creators John Singleton & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron – averaged 5 million total viewers across all platforms.
John Singleton’s FX drama Snowfall deals with ‘the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it.
The series stars Damson Idris, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Carter Hudson and Emily Rios.
Snowfall will premiere on Wednesday, July 5th (10/9C).

FX has ordered a ten-episode season John Singleton’s Snowfall to premiere in 2017.
Snowfall was inspired by the early days of the crack epidemic in the early 1980s and follows a number of characters who are on a collision course.

The 2016 TCM Classic Film Festival will open with a 40th Anniversary screening of All the President’s Men.
The Festival will pay tribute to Emmy®-winner Carl Reiner and Oscar®-nominee Elliott Gould and feature appearances by Anna Karina (introducing Jean-Luc Goddard’s Band of Outsiders), Stacey Keach (discussing John Huston’s boxing classic, Fat City), John singleton (introducing a 25th Anniversary screening of his Boyz N the Hood), and the legendary Eva Marie Saint (introducing a screening of political comedy The Russian Are coming, The Russians Are Coming!).

In a move that surprises no one, Vin Diesel is going to team up with John Singleton to bring Midway Games, Wheelman franchise to the big screen. For some reason I’m thinking this is old news, I could have sworn they were making this a few years go and then canceled it. But I’m probably wrong. I’ve met John Singleton a couple of times and he has become an ahole, but he is talented. I run hot and cold on Diesel on the one hand I can’t stand him as an actor but he always picks really good genre material. I don’t know how much Midway’s financial problems will affect this project but it’ll be interesting to follow.
