NBC Announces Host for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards!

Earlier this week, NBC announced that Ricky Gervais would reprise his gig as host of The Golden Globes Awards. Today comes the announcement that the network has found their host for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards [8/7C, August 29, 2010] – Jimmy Fallon!

Fallon, whose run on Saturday Night Live – where he co-anchored Weekend Update with Tina Fey – earned him the shot at hosting Late Night, is a singer, dancer, and impressionist as well as a standup comic. His humor runs towards the snarky – though not as pointedly as Gervais – which should give the Emmys some edge. And if he can bring the show in on time, that would be cool, too.
