Not so with the 30-second teaser for the trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! – which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Mother! opens on September 15th.

Skyfall Holds Up Well on DVD–Pity About the Features!

Skyfall is one of the best Bonds and part of the reason is that not only does Daniel Craig’s Bond continue to reveal new sides to his personality and resources; not only is he given one of the best Bond villains ever in Javier Bardem’s Raoul Silva, but Judi Dench just kills it as M – giving her every bit of the toughness and resiliency that we always expected of her, and an equally unexpected tenderness that we might not have.

The film holds up well on DVD, even on the small screen it’s a terrific experience, but there are barely fifteen minutes of features – most dealing with technical stuff but not in a superficial way.

Eat Pray Love – She’s Selfish But Honest!

Eat Pray Love is a breezy, leisurely travelogue that is held together by one woman’s search for enlightenment. Directed and co-written [with Jennifer Salt] by Ryan Murphy [Glee, Nip/Tuck], this is a movie that looks great – check out the panoramic looks at Italy, India and Bali – has a mostly easy to take script, and features an amazing cast. So, why am I of two minds on it?
