Happy Town looks like it’s going to be a weird cross between Picket Fences meets Twin Peaks. It premieres on ABC tonight (Wed) at 10 pm. I recently had the chance to sit down with Amy Acker (best known as Fred from the Buffyverse) and Geoff Stults. Here’s the video of that encounter.
Happy Town’s [ABC, Wednesdays, 10/9C] Haplin, Minnesota is a small town where everyone seems determined to be happy, possibly because after seven years of people mysteriously vanishing, things have been – relatively speaking – normal. Into this seemingly normal small town comes Henley Boone [Lauren German], a smart, pretty young woman who says she’s going to use an inheritance to open a candle shop. Her arrival comes on the heels of the unusual murder of the town eccentric by way of a chisel in the forehead – his screams heard only by a local girl who’s been dropped off by her boyfriend so her parents won’t know [yup, it’s yer basic Romeo & Juliet, subplot].
I’m back and I survived last weekend’s big San Francisco Adventure known as WonderCon 2010. Friday was all about opening day and comic books, Saturday was all about pop culture the day started with spending an hour in the Press Room with the cast of ABC’s new spooky show Happy Town. We sat down with the producers, Amy Acker, Geoff Stults, and I’ll admit I don’t know who the 3rd guy was since I don’t watch Lost. I was sitting right next to Amy trying to figure out why she looked so familiar it wasn’t until later in the day when I realized, wholly s it’s Fred from Angel! How could I forget that? Right after that we went into the next room to spend a lot of quality time with Jerry Bruckheimer – who for some reason kept staring and winking at me out of the corner of his eye.
