Constantine, Hannibal and Grimm lead the way as NBC and Universal Television sets out to invade Comic-Con 2014. Panels are planned for these shows as well as Bates Motel and a yet-to-be-named Adult Swim series featuring Triumph the Insult Dog.
NBC will host the panels for Hannibal and The Blacklist, while Universal Television will host panels, Grimm, Bates Motel and the Adult Swim show. The Constantine panel will include a screening of the pilot. For further details, follow the jump.
Everyone’s favorite gourmet serial killer/psychiatrist, Hannibal Lecter, will slide into the post-Grimm timeslot (10/9C) currently occupied by Dracula on NBC’s Friday night schedule when that series completes its run in February.
The Bryan Fuller series stars Hugh Dancy as gifted profiler Will Graham, Mads Mikkelsen as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford, head of the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. Caroline Dhavernas (wonderfalls) and Hettiene Park also star.
NBC is making a splash at Comic-Con 2013 with stars and producers of several shows – including The Blacklist (above left), Community, Grimm, Hannibal (above right), and Revolution – headlining panels. Ironside star Blair Underwood will be a part of the TV Guide Fan Faves panel, while SNL veteran Seth Meyers and Late Night with Seth Meyers producer Michael Shoemaker will appear on the Hulu panel.
Tonight’s premiere of Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal (NBC, Thursdays, 10/9C) is a deeply disturbing delight that is the absolute antithesis of his Pushing Daisies. In his approach to Thomas Harris’ characters, he has come up with a style that might be described as The Profiler: Twin Peaks Edition – though that doesn’t nearly capture the heightened reality Fuller has created here.
