NBC released its summer schedule today and surprise! It’s mostly unscripted [reality] shows! The lone scripted programming will be new episodes of the re-tooled Law & Order: Los Angeles. Re-purposed shows are: the final season of Friday Night Lights – fresh from its final season run on DirecTV, and the final season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent – fresh from its run on USA Network. The news unscripted shows are: It’s Worth What? And Love In The Wild. Returning shows include The Voice and America’s Got Talent. Sounds pretty weak to me. Details follow the jump.
Of all the superheroes, Wonder Woman has yet to make it to either the big screen or the small screen. A big screen project was in the works for years, never coming to fruition. And now, amid much controversy, NBC has taken the reins to bring Wonder Woman to viewers as a weekly series. Fans have expressed many doubts along the way including concerns over the possibly-campy, unflattering script, casting of an appropriate actress, and even concerns about the choice of costume. DC made a decision to change the heroine’s costume in the comics world, from the patriotic swimsuit to a more contemporary and less revealing outfit, as was shown in this Eclipse posting a while back. ABC Family has acquired the basic cable television rights to the Emmy® Award-winning television series “Friday Night Lights,” in a deal with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Details from the press release follow the jump.
