With aspirations of fame, two actors Will Kavanaugh (Gil Freston) and Jon Lieberman (David Shabtai) meet for lunch at a prototypical health restaurant in West Hollywood during pilot season, that golden period for successful actors to audition for new TV shows.  Unfortunately, their meeting spirals into a deadly altercation with a spin class instructor that escalates into a shootout with Lieutenant Ramirez (David Arquette) and the police.  VICE Media, the world’s leading global youth media brand, will premiere action comedy mini-movie THE BIG BREAK, written and directed by Gil Freston (Paladar) and starring David Arquette (Scream), on VICE.com tomorrow, January 17.

Movie News: No Scream(ing) For Supernatural Actors

spnban

As reported this week on EM, Scream creator and writer Kevin Williamson is working on Scream 4, which has been greenlit by Dimension Films. Hot on the heels of the announcement that David Arquette and Courtney Cox had been signed on to reprise their original roles as Dewey Riley and Gail Weathers, rumors began surfacing on Twitter that the highly talented lead actors from Supernatural, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, were on the ‘short list’ of actors being approached to star in the movie along side Arquette and Cox.  We contacted the respective publicist for Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles to seek confirmation of this information. Publicists for both actors issued a statement to us that the rumors of their clients being approached or considered for roles in Scream 4 are false.

Movie News: Courtney Cox and David Arquette Signed on for Scream 4

Yes, Virgina, there is going to be a Scream 4.

Everyone knows that no successful horror franchise really ever dies off and so it goes that the inevitable Scream 4 is in the works and word is that David Arquette and his wife Courtney Cox have signed on to reprise their roles.

Cox and Arquette have both been with the Scream movies since the very first one in 1996.  In the original Scream Arquette played the role of Deputy Dwight ‘Dewey’ Riley and Cox played tabloid news reporter Gail Weathers. Both actors reprised their respective roles in Scream 2 and 3.

“I fell in love with my wife on Scream,” David Arquette is quoted as saying. “So the opportunity to bring [Dewey] back to life and for my wife to play that really bitchy character again, it’s just going to be really fun. It’s just great.”

David Arquette has also confirmed that Kevin Williamson the writer/creator of the original Scream movie is on board to write number 4 and that they are looking an eye towards Wes Craven to again take on directing duties. There is no word on whether or not Neve Campbell will come on board as well to reprise her role as  Sydney Prescott who was the killer’s target in the first movie.

No production date is set yet for this movie.

Comic Con Exclusive: Heeding the (Casting) Call: Becoming a ‘Sexy Jesus’ to Promote Hamlet 2

EMs Roving Reporter and the Sexy Jesus Guys
EM's Roving Reporter and the 'Sexy Jesus' Guys

There I was walking around the lobbies of San Diego Convention center taking in all the wonders of the 2008 San Diego Comic Con Convention and looking for unique and interesting things to tell EM readers about when suddenly I found myself surrounded by 15 handsome, long-haired, well built young men wearing muscle tees, blue jeans and all proclaiming to be ‘Sexy Jesus’. Being the red-blooded female that I am, I was of course basking in the attention of so many sexy young men, but the reporter in me was already bringing out the mike to ask the big question: “Who and What is Sexy Jesus and what does it all mean.”

The guys were on their way outside to the fountain area outside of the convention center to do some ‘meeting and greeting’ with convention goers to promote the movie Hamlet 2 and they invited me to come along and they would tell me all about it. Hey when 15 hot young guys invite you to tag along with them and get the inside scoop for your readers, this reporter was not going to turn them down. Besides what girl wouldn’t want to be seen sailing through the halls with an entourage of gorgeous men in her wake. Things like that just don’t happen every day to me!  Continue reading Comic Con Exclusive: Heeding the (Casting) Call: Becoming a ‘Sexy Jesus’ to Promote Hamlet 2
