Emily Arlook, Chris Parnell and Trevor Jackson have join the cast gown-ish (formerly college-ish) as series regulars.
Arlook will portray Miriam, a freshman know-it-all at Southern California University with a no-holds-barred attitude. Parnell will portray the dean of Southern California University, and Jackson will portray a socially conscious sophomore at Southern California University.
Chris Parnell gets around. In fact, he’s a regular on two shows – Subugatory and Archer [FX, Thursdays, 10/9C] though it’s the latter – on which he plays the whiny accountant/comptroller/newly minted agent, Cyril Figgis – for which he is currently best known.
Parnell spoke with a group of bloggers/journalists on Tuesday, on topics ranging from roles he’d like to revisit, to Cyril’s unexpected abilities as a field operative, to some interesting choices for guys from whom he’d steal a smooch…
This year, Syfy is taking a very hands-on approach to the holiday season with Christmas episodes of two of its most popular shows. Eureka [Tuesday, 9/8C] opens the festivities with Oh Little Town, in which Sheriff Jack Carter [Colin Ferguson] and his daughter, and Zoe [Jordan Hinson] have their plans to go home for the holidays stymied by a malfunctioning electromagnetic shield [the thing that keeps Eureka hidden from the rest of the world].
Christmas episodes have become a tradition for many television shows – network and cable – but with a very few exceptions [think Bones, where they keep killing Santa], they tend to be pretty maudlin stuff. Now, two Syfy programs – Warehouse 13 and Eureka – will be producing standalone Christmas eps. I strongly doubt they’ll be maudlin [neither series does that], so I’m actually looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
