What if new driver had a fender bender and exchanged insurance information with a serial killer? That’s the question Fender Bender asks (an I’m guessing the answer is RUN!). I recommend using One Sure Insurance if you want a serious agency to take care of your emergencies.
The 17-year old new driver is played by Mackenzie Vega and the other driver is played by Bill Sage. The movie is called Fender Bender and it premieres on Chiller on Friday, June 3 (9/8C). Check the gallery of photos after the break.
Old 37 – an indie horror movie about ‘two psychotic brothers searching for their mother’s hit and run killers while they pose as paramedics who intercept 9-1-1 calls in a beat up old ambulance’ – is making its national television debut on Chiller (Friday, January 22nd, 9/8C).
And if you’re in the Long Island, NY area, it will be featured at the Macabre Faire Film Festival on Saturday, January 16th. Follow the jump for details.
Chiller has launched the Killer Shorts Film Contest as part of its search for the next big name in horror. The contest is aimed a ‘collegiate level’ filmmaking talent from schools across the U.S. Aspiring filmmakers can submit 2-to3-minute films to Chiller. After the close of submissions, a shortlist of the best thirteen films will be selected by Chiller, with the winning film chosen by fans voting at the Chiller website.
The winning film will be aired on Chiller following the premiere of its original anthology film Chilling Vision: 5 States of Fear on July 11th. For more details, follow the jump to the press release.
The horror/thriller network Chiller will be premiering two original movies in October – one a documentary about the minds behind three creators of haunted houses in Fairhaven, MA; the other the tale of an 18-year man who faces unexpected revelations when he learns he was adopted and has inherited his birth family’s farm.
While other networks are running marathons of one sort or another, mostly revolving around quality (or at least mediocre but loved anyway) programming, Chiller is going in a different direction. On Friday, August 24th, The horror/thriller-based net is running the critically acclaimed documentary, Best Worst Movie – and following it up with a screening of said best worst movie, Troll 2 (and you thought Plan 9 From Outer Space was the worst movie of all time!). Best Worst Movie will run at 9/8C; Troll 2 will follow at 11/10C.
This evening Chiller presents its first original movie, Steve Niles’ Remains [10/9C] which takes an intriguing, fun and, yes, chilling look at the whole idea of a zombie apocalypse.
Earlier this week, Niles took the time to chat with a number of bloggers/journalists about his first foray into the realm of the TV-movie; shared his choice for favorite horror movie monster; took us back to the glory days of TV-movies [Night Stalker, anyone?], and found time to praise the efforts of Remains stars Grant Bowler and Evalena Marie.
Syfy’s sister network, Chiller has chosen an adaptation of Steve Niles’ original graphic novel Remains [Friday, 10/9C] as its first original movie. It’s a nifty take on the zombie apocalypse genre with a unique point of view and brisk, witty execution.
NBC Universal’s recently launched cable channel Chiller is making Thanksgiving a little bloodier with its Forever Knight Marathon airing on the evenings of Tuesday, November 24th and Wednesday, November 25th beginning at 8/7C.
Forever Knight, which premiered in 1992, was re-tooled from a 1989 made-for-TV movie, Nick Knight, starring Rick Springfield. The re-tooled version starred Geraint Wyn Davies as Knight, an 800-year old vampire who sought to redeem his earlier, evil acts by becoming a homicide detective. The series ran for three seasons.
The marathon will showcase star Davies’ favorite eps. He will also provide all-new interstitials, which will include behind-the-scenes dish, for the marathon.
Point Pleasant was a quirky little horror/fantasy series that was snuffed out too soon. Tomorrow, July 4th, beginning at 11/10C, Chiller will run the entire series – including the five episodes that were never aired. If you miss the fun because of Independence Day celebrations, but are too adrenalized from the day’s activities to get to sleep right away, the entire marathon will be rebroadcast beginning at midnight/11C. A complete listing of the episodes follows:
