WGN America Acquires Rights To Small Town Murder Mystery Series Bellvue!

Welcome to “Bellevue” – a small town with big secrets. Twenty years ago   the murder of a young woman traumatized the community. Now the killer is back. Or is he?

Bellvue is a new drama series starring Oscar®-winning actress Ann Paquin as Detective Annie Ryder, who has a connection to the twenty-year old murder.

Bellvue will premiere on WGN America in early 2018.

Comic Con 2009- Sneak Peek at True Blood

True Blood

July 26, 2009 – Tonight HBO is airing a brand new episode of their hit Vampire series, True Blood and at yesterday’s True Blood panel at the San Diego Comic Con, showrunner Alan Ball, novelist Charlaine Harris (whose Sookie Stackhouse novels comprise the basis for the series), and cast members Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Rutina Wesley, Nelsan Ellis, Michelle Forbes, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, and Alexander Skarsgard were on hand to promote the show to what was reportedly a packed house comprised of media and devoted fans.

Reports from the event all state that the cast’s appearance received the most attention from the crowd. However the one-hour session also featured a promo for the back half of the second season of True Blood which was met with loud cheers from the audience at the end of it’s screening.

MOVIES & TELEVISION: It’s Time To Party With The 66th Golden Globes Awards!

With “Awards Season” in full swing, we come to my favorite awards show to watch – The Golden Globes [the Globes’ new look featured, above]. Where else can you see an award winner rush from the little girls’ room to the stage, trailing a piece of toilet paper from her shoe [Christine Lahti, you are immortal because of this], or another award winner insist upon giving his award to the actor who inspired him to become an actor [the only award Jack Lemmon ever got that was voted for by a panel of one – and who knows how many other actors he inspired…?]. Thank you speeches that come from the heart or, on occasion, from a few too many drinks… The Golden Globes are fun because you get more moments from real people than all the other awards shows combined [excepting, possibly, The Spirit Awards]. Plus, the Globes honor movies and television – so there are twice as many opportunities for entertainment. So, here, after the jump, here are the nominees and my choices.
