Say what you will about Nick Willing’s work in miniseries, they’re always something different. In Neverland [Syfy, Sunday, December 4th/Monday, December 5th, 9/8C], Willing takes a remarkable cast [Rhys Ifans, Charlie Rowe, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins…] and tells the tale of how Peter and the Lost Boys came to be in Neverland; how a Fagin-like Jimmy became the pirate Captain Hook, and how Neverland became inhabited by pirates, Indians and fairies.

Pushing Daisies, which debut in the fall 2007 television line up, told the story of  Ned {Lee Pace), a young man with a very special gift. As a boy, Ned discovered that he could return the dead briefly back to life with just one touch. Now a pie maker, Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) in a private investigating practice to crack murder cases by raising the dead and getting them to name their killers. Things get totally complicated when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Charlotte ‘Chuck’ Charles (Anna Friel), back from the dead — and keeps her alive. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except for one cruel twist: If he ever touches her again, she’ll go back to being dead, this time for good.

The first season pilot episode of Pushing Daisies, Pie-lette, scored high marks with television critics and viewers alike with it’s unique and quirky premise. The Emmy Award winning series quickly became a hit for creator Brad Fuller and Warner Brothers to the extent that it was renewed for a second season by the ABC network.
