Shout!Factory and Funimation Films Bring Award-Winning Anime Film In This Corner of the World To America!

Based on the Japanese award-winning manga by Fumiyo Kouno, In This Corner of the World  is an empowering coming-of-age tale set against the backdrop of WWII and captures the resilience and triumph of the human spirit.

The film follows a young lady named Suzu Urano, who in 1944 moves to the small town of Kure in Hiroshima to live with her husband’s family. Suzu’s life is thrown into chaos when her town is bombed during World War II.

Funimation Films Brings Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic To North America!

Funimation is bringing the anime film Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic to North America in both dubbed and subtitled versions – the subtitled version on June 12th and the dubbed version on June 14th.

After hearing rumors of a peculiar society bringing people back from the dead, the two board the luxury liner Campania on her maiden voyage to investigate. Incognito amongst the mysterious Aurora Society, they find familiar faces and a sight they can’t believe—a woman raised from the dead!

Sailor Moon R: The Movie Comes To Home Video!

VIZ Media has announced the home video release of Sailor Moon R: The Movie in both Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and Standard DVD. Both formats will feature English dubbed and original Japanese voice performancew.

A well-meant gesture could lead to disaster as it involves a flower that has the power to take over planets. Only the Sailor Guardians can prevent it.

Sailor Moon R: The Movie will be available in home video on April 18th.

VIZ Sets Panels and Signings and Announces Guests for Anime Boston 2017

VIZ Media has set its panels and signings for Anime Boston 2017, which takes place from March 31st – April 2nd at the Hynes Convention Center and the Sheraton Boston Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.

VIZ Media-related convention guests include: Naokatsu Tsuda, director of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series, Shingo Natsume, director and character designer of One-Punch Man, Toru Furuyua, the Japanese voice actor who portrayed Tuxedo Mask in the classic Sailor Moon series and many more.

Panels will include the VIZ Media Industry Panel and panels for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Sailor Moon and One-Punch Man – as well as set up three signings (a Sailor Moon Tuxedo Mask session; a Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure session and a One-Punch Man session).

VIZ Media Completes The Sweep: Acquires Rights To Boruto Anime Series!

Hard on the heels of their release announcement for the Boruto Blu-ray Combo Pack and manga, VIZ Media has acquired the North and Latin American rights to the anime series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations for digital, broadcast, home media and merchandising.

In the U.S., Viz Media will bring the series about Naruto’s rebellious son to HULu, which will stream the simulcast of the series premiere on April 5th.

VIZ Media Releases Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel In Manga & Home Video!

One of the greatest battles in Pokémon history is being released as both manga and home video: Pokémon The Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

In the latest adventure, Ash meets the Mythical Pokémon, Volcanion, when it crashes down from the sky, creating a cloud of dust – and a mysterious force binds the two of them together.

Blu-Ray Release K: Missing Kings Expands Its World Beyond the Anime Series!

Funimation Acquires Season Two of My Hero Academia!

In season one, Izuku and the rest of the first-year class at a prestigious school for heroes, thought they’d been put through the wringer.

They’re about tho find out that 2nd year is much tougher.

In a first for the series, “My Hero Academia” will premiere simultaneously in Japan, U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Ahead of the premiere, a special, Season 1 recap episode of “My Hero Academia” will premiere in Japan on Saturday, March 25.
