Hunter Exam Phase 4 At Center of Hunter X Hunter Volume 2!

Hunter X Hunter is the story of ambitious would-be Hunter Gon – Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other people. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam.

In the about-to-be-released Hunter X Hunter, Gon and his friends face their greatest challenge yet – stealing ID badges from the other Hunter candidates without being caught. If they fail to get a single badge, they fail!

Hunter X Hunter Vol. 2 will be in stores – on Blu-ray and DVD – on February 28th.

VIZ Media Bringing Sailor Moon R: The Movie To America!

VIZ Media, in association with Toei animation Inc. and Eleven Arts is bringing the first Sailor Moon feature film to America in January.

Sailor Moon R: The Movie will play in over 300 theaters – along with the North American debut of the original Sailor Moon short, Make Up! Sailor Guardians.

Screenings will be dubbed in English – except for select theaters in which the original Japanese with subtitles.

Funimation Films Brigining One Piece Film: Gold To North America!

Funimation Films has acquired the North American rights to the new One Piece film, One Piece Film: Gold – the latest in the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates.

When the Straw Hat Pirates sail into the city of Gran Tesoro seeking gold, they have no idea what lies in wait for them behind gilded curtains.

Funimation Films will be releasing One Piece Film: Gold in North american theaters for the week of January 10-17, 2017. For more, red on.

Funimation and Crunchyroll Bring Complementary Strengths To New Anime Streaming Partnership!

Funimation and Crunchyroll have formed a new partnership to bring access to more anime to fans.

Funimation will now provide English dubs to Crunchyroll titles, while Crunchyroll will provide subtitles to Funimation titles.

The collaboration will begin with each providing dubs/subtitles on the other’s 2016 summer titles, including Funimation’s D.Gray-man Hallow (above), First Love Monster and Puzzle & Dragons X and Crunchyroll’s 91 Days (above, right), Mob Psycho 100 and Orange. A number of classic titles from each provider will now be accessible through the other’s services.

Funimation will also now distribute Crunchyroll titles in home video – with both dubbed and subtitled versions together. For more details – including titles involved – follow the jump.

Funimation Acquires Broadcast, Home Video, VOD Rights to Drifters!

Funimation has announced the acquisition of rights to Hellsing creator  Kouta Hirano’s anime series Drifters for broadcast, VOD and home video.

Drifters will premiere in October on the company’s streaming service, FunimationNow, in the U.S., Canada,U.K. and Ireland. For more, follow the jump.

Funimation Acquires Exclusive Rights for Digitally Restored Anime Classic Momotaro, Sacred Sailors!

Funimation has acquired the exclusive rights to the digitally resotred Momotaro, Sacred Sailors – the first feature-length anime film – in the U.S. and Canada.

Based on a classic Japanese fairy tale about Momotaro – a boy who was born from a peach and defeated monsters with the help of his animal friends, Momotaro, Sacred Sailors was released in 1945 during the final months of World War II.  For further details, follow the jump.
