Syfy IS Spartacus!

Spartacus:  Blood and Sand; Episode 110

Syfy has acquired the U.S. basic cable rights to all thirty-nine episodes of Starz Entertainment’s Spartacus. The series will premiere on Syfy on Thursday, June 26th (10/9C) – following the second season premiere of Defiance (8/7C) and series premiere of Dominion (9/8C) – and it will be interesting to see how the very R-rated series will edited for basic cable.

Australian Steps Into The Of Spartacus!

Liam McIntyre-Vanessa Dano and Tom Donato

Australian actor Liam McIntyre has been selected to fill the gladatorial boots of Andy Whitfield who originated the role in the Starz series: Spartacus: Blood and Sand. As Whitfield was unable to return due to health issues, he gave his blessing to the recasting.

Spartacus No More?

Andy Whitfield will not be returning for a second season of Starz’ original series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The Australian actor’s cancer has recurred. Although a planned prequel – Spartacus: Gods of the Arena – will air as planned, Whitfield’s absence has left decisions on continuing the series up in the air.
