With teaser trailers reminiscent of a traditional romance and The Hangover: Part 2, it’s pretty plain to see that The Muppets are back with a vengeance – and they’ve brought along Sweetums and Crazy Harry! Life is good!

Ok, I’ve spent this entire week being so very, very pissed off at the folks that run CinemaCon that I was going to completely ignore the few presentations that I actually did get into. But I figured, I’m here and hey I can write this horrible experience off my taxes next year so I might as well talk about Disney’s CinemaCon Presentation – even though I was hassled by some asshole security guard.
The big news to come out of the event was Disney gave us more details on Monsters, Inc 2. The sequel is going to be called Monsters University and will be a prequel to the hit film. The movie will show us how Sulley and Mike first met at Monsters University. Of course they hate each other on sight. We’ll see how they overcome their hatred and go onto become the best friends that we know and love. Larry The Cable Guy (I’m sorry, I just don’t understand why he’s popular) came out to introduce Cars 2. We got a chance to watch a good 26 minutes of the movie and see almost all of the new characters in action. After the Cars 2 footage, Rob Marshall and Jerry B. (who loved me at last year’s WonderCon) came out to set up the 15 minute clip of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The story of welterweight champion Irish Mickey Ward may end with The Big Fight, but it doesn’t quite take the expected path to get there.

Larry Daley is a guard at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. He takes on an adventure we will never forget when the museum’s exhibits and animals come to life. A few years later, he leaves the museum life behind and becomes the CEO and inventor of Daley Devices. We meet him on the set of his informercial promoting a glow-in-the-dark flashlight with George Foreman.
Larry Daley has the life he always wanted but something is missing. He decides to revisit his old stomping ground at the museum. Only to find out that the museum is undergoing a change to the 21st Century. The museum will now have holographic displays that will interact with the vistors while the original exhibits will be sent down to the Federal Archives in Washington, DC for permanent storage. He decides to spend one more night at the museum to say goodbye to his old friends before they head to DC. All is well until he receives a call from Jedidah informing him that Ahkmenrah’s brother has come back to life to seek a tablet that holds power to control the world.
