Hey, stranger things have happened and in a year where there are so many mediocre films (so far), Piranha 3D could be a contender. At least that’s what The Weinstein Company is hoping for. I’m assuming they are being tongue in cheek with their latest press release. Check out this hysterical take on the “For Your Consideration” campaign video on Funny or Die. I love it when a movie knows what it is and isn’t ashamed of it. Loved the line about “you have to have 10 nominations, what are you going to do nominate Inception 10 times?” Nice job Weinstein Company, I now want to see this movie.

The last time I talked about the film “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” was on July 31st. Several days later, the first trailer for the film was released on the third of August. Since my last post, the synopsis has changed slightly….here’s a more updated version:
“Producers Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth,” “The Orphanage”) and Mark Johnson (“Chronicles of Narnia”) join forces to deliver “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” a tale of hair-raising, spine-chilling horror. Sally Hurst (Bailee Madison), a lonely, withdrawn child, has just arrived in Rhode Island to live with her father Alex (Guy Pearce) and his new girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) at the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the sprawling estate, the young girl discovers a hidden basement, undisturbed since the strange disappearance of the mansion’s builder a century ago. When Sally unwittingly lets loose a race of ancient, dark-dwelling creatures who conspire to drag her down into the mysterious house’s bottomless depths, she must convince Alex and Kim that it’s not a fantasy—before the evil lurking in the dark consumes them all.”
I’m personally looking forward to this movie but what do you guys think? Feel free to comment. Anyway, I now have the pleasure to share this trailer with all the Eclipse Magazine readers out there. I hope you enjoy:

Here it is, the first Red Band trailer for Let Me In the new Hollywood version of last year’s Swedish Indie Hit Let the Right One In. Click here to check out the official Facebook page. I don’t understand the point of remaking this but this other than very few people saw the original. By the trailer it looks like they are keeping to the letter of the original while upping the Vampire and action quotient. Nice and effective trailer, makes me want to see it. Here is the Green Band version.

Oh my god, my list of dream movies has always been very short it consisted of three movies – Speed Racer, Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets as live action affairs. I loved Speed Racer, but never thought the last two would ever be possible. Those crazy ass Japanese have done it though! A live action version of Star Blazers – I know what I’ll be hunting for at Comic Con this year! Check out this trailer, it looks pretty amazing – except the uniforms look a little goofy. But the Yamato, the space battles, everything looks spot on! De…slock, Deslock, Deslock!
