It was announced earlier today that Angry Mob Music will now be representing musical heavy hitters: Paul Adelstein, Lelia Broussard, and Chester French. More details from the press release after the jump:
ANGRY MOB MUSIC TO REPRESENT MUSICAL HEAVY HITTERS PAUL ADELSTEIN, LELIA BROUSSARD AND CHESTER FRENCH
LOS ANGELES (March 30, 2012) – Paul Adelstein, the lead singer-songwriter of pop/rock band Doris; hip-hop influenced indie pop band Chester French and indie/pop sensation Lelia Broussard – three heavy hitters who have graced their respective music circles with unforgettable songs and dynamic sets – have signed with Angry Mob Music, a music publishing and licensing company that have amassed an eclectic roster of exceptional artists spanning the indie rock, folk, jazz and pop genres.
Angry Mob will represent Adelstein’s LP, “All the Details,” released in February. Doris’ debut record, “Carpet Bomb Solutions,” collected widespread critical acclaim in 2000, and was followed up by “Between You and Me” in 2005. Fans of ABC’s hit series “Private Practice” will recognize Adelstein as Dr. Cooper Freedman.
“I went with Angry Mob Music because its team has really strong ties to the film and TV communities,” said Adelstein, who compares his music to Randy Newman and Elvis Costello. “I also love that they are first and foremost music fans.”
Having all three artists signed under the Angry Mob Music banner is a major coup as each are all stand-out artists in their own right.
“We are absolutely thrilled about these recent signings. They’re all highly marketable and uniquely talented artists who bring their own special brand of authenticity to our roster. We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity to work with them and be part of their creative evolution,” said Sean Harrison, head of Marketing and co-founder of Angry Mob Music. “Paul’s singular voice and dedication to his craft reflects his genuine creative approach that results in a truly unique musical experience. Chester French’s music is relentlessly energetic with great musicality and originality, and Lelia is a natural performer whose infectious melodies and expressive vocals are undeniable.”
Chester French was named “Artists To Watch” in the March 2008 issue of Rolling Stone. The group comprises D.A. Wallach and multi-instrumentalist Max Drummey, both Harvard University grads and signed with Pharrell Williams’ Star Trak/Interscope Records. Chester French has toured the US and Europe as headliner with Blink 182, Weezer, N*E*R*D, Common and Lady Gaga. In 2009, Chester French released its highly-anticipated debut album, Love the Future. They are currently working on a new album that releases in May 2012.
Broussard recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon and was handpicked as one of the best-unsigned artists in the nation by the editors of Rolling Stone and Atlantic Records – was lauded for making beautiful, powerful and emotional music by hip-hop mogul Russel Simmons. In 2010, Broussard released “Masquerade,” her critically acclaimed full-length album. Her previous EPs were: “Wolves Are At My Door” and her full length album “Waiting On The 9”.
