Before I start this, let me just say Movie Studios attitudes towards the Internet is just dumb. I’m getting all of these clips from YouTube but the morons ban embedding the clips, even though right below the official trailer there’s always 20 other copies of it. How dumb is that? Here are 5 hot movie trailers for this week.

You have Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in a Michael Mann gangster movie, how can it go wrong?

 

My Sister’s Keeper

Man this is a great trailer that almost makes me cry every time I see it. And I’m a heartless you know what. Normally I scoff at movies like this but wow, what nice trailer.

 

The Ugly Truth

I run hot and cold on Katherine Heigl, I don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy so I can’t comment on her there. I know her from Roswell and her  character was butchered on that show, so I really don’t know if she can act or not. But the trailer for The Ugly Truth is good and as long as this movie has nothing to do with Judd Apatow I think it has a good shot at being decent.

 

The Proposal

I like Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock so this this looks pretty interesting,

 

The Taking of Pelham 123

I’m going to end this week’s trailer park with an action movie – The Taking of Pelham 123 with Denzel Washington and John Travolta is looking pretty strong.

    "The Proposal" is a romantic comedy about a single Canadian woman executive who must do something quickly to prevent being deported and thus keep her NYC job. The solution is to force her male assistant to agree to a sham marriage. The talented cast do their best with a poor plot/script but there are some chuckles, beautiful Mass. scenery, and some almost completely nude scenes.

    GRADE = "B-"

    Heigl is a fantastic actress and the Ugly Truth is also an R rated flick so should be decent. If you have only seen her in Roswell, then you can't really compare. She is a thousand times the actress now than she was then. Luketic did a really good job with 21 and his rom coms have been decent too. High hope for this – the preview was fantastic in Vegas recently.

    Anyone that says that Number 1 – Katherine Heigl is a good actress, loses all credibility in claiming that her work on "Roswell" is any different than it is now. Number 2 – She played the exact same part on "Roswell" that she does on "Grey's," an uninformed, arrogant, airheaded bitch that uses her 'looks' to get by. She's a HORRENDOUS actress. You CAN compare them because they're the same thing, both with her pathetic acting. "Roswell" was her first real break and then it took her nearly five years to get another one, that's not saying a whole lot about her acting ability. "She is a thousand times the actress now than she was then." – That right there shows that you have no taste to begin with, go figure, you're a guy that only looks at her flabby tits. She's a thousand times WORSE than she was then, because at least then she only complained to the management about everything, now she goes directly to the press.

    ANYWAY. My Sister's Keeper — that *is* a great trailer. I'm looking forward to it. And I hadn't seen the trailer for The Ugly Truth yet, so thanks for posting it. Looks like it's going to be pretty funny. Maybe I'll be able to convince my bf to see the both of them with me.

    Most of these look like great summer films. My Sisters Keeper was such a great book so I am really looking forward to it. As for The Ugly Truth, if Gerard Butler is in the film you'll more than likely find me in that theater, such a hunker. I'm a huge Sandra Bullok fan and wasn't able to catch one of the many pre-screenings for The Proposal so I'll definitely be seeing this as well, hopefully there will be many rainy days this season so I can catch most of them.
