Comedy giant Martin Short and Dancer par excellence Derek Hough are the latest additions to the cast of NBC’s Hairspray Live!

Short will take on the role of Tracy Turnblad’s father, Wilbur, while Hough will play the singer-dancer-host of The Corny Collins Show.

NBC Orders Maya and Marty To Series; Adds Kenan Thompson!

Maya Rudolph, Martin Short and Kenan Thompson will star in the live, hourlong variety series Maya and Martin in Manhattan.

Lorne Michaels will produce the series which is scheduled to premiere on NBC on Tuesday, May 31st (10/9C). Details follow the jump.

Frankenweenie–It’s Alive! It’s Alive!

While the trailers for Frankenweenie have been terrific, and all the press releases for it have noted that it’s a very personal project for Tim Burton, I think it will take seeing this making of featurette to really drive home how important the film is to him. Various cast and crew – including Martin Landau, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder and Burton – talk about the film and its making.
