I love Wrestling Games, smacking people with a chair to the head is ALWAYS fun. But THQ has had a virtual monopoly on the genre with it’s WWE titles for several years now and the quality of the titles are getting progressively worse. Maybe with Midway entering the field with their TNA Impact! Title THQ will do better. Midway’s entry is looking better and better, they just released some new screenshots and it looks like the game is coming along nicely. I’m curious to see the game play mechanics. And word of advice to Midway – make sure we can turn off all of those annoying entrance videos and improve the load times. You do that and you’ll have THQ’s Smackdown Vs. Raw series beat.

To date Midway has announced the involvement of the following wrestlers from the TNA stable: Abyss, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Booker T, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Rhino, Scott Steiner and Sting. A complete roster will be available closer to the game’s launch. Midway will soon unveil the cover athletes and box art for TNA iMPACT! In addition to the more than 25 wrestlers, TNA iMPACT! will feature a top notch create-a-wrestler system that allows the player to interact with game’s story mode. TNA IMPACT! will be available for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Wii™ and PlayStation 2 this summer
