The original 22 episodes from the 1990 CBS series The Flash are now available on CW Seed. Follow the jump for more.
Despite rating s that would, today, guarantee renewal, The 1990 Flash was up against some pretty heavy competition (like the Simpsons during one of their best seasons. As a result, by the time CBS moved the show in an attempt to bolster its audience, it was too late.
The Flash starred John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen/The Flash (you probably recognize him as Barry’s dad, Henry Allen in the new series), Amanda Pays as Dr. Tina McGee (a role she reprised in season one The CW’s series), and Alex Desert as Barry’s fellow police scientist, Julio Mendez.
Th Flash faced many of the classic Rogues Gallery of villains, including Captain Cold, The Ghost and The Trickster (Mark Hamill) and had some pretty nifty effects.
