Peabody Award

The winners of the 71st Annual Peabody Awards – possibly the most prestigious awards for television, radio and online programming – have been announced and it should probably come as no surprise that HBO’s Game of Thrones and Treme, PBS’ Austin City Limits, Showtime’s Homeland and syndicated game show Jeopardy were among them.

Awake [NBC, Thursdays, 10/9C] is one of the best of the season’s new programs, but you’d never know it from the ratings. At least when the show’s cast and creator promised a penguin, they came through with a penguin. Maybe that will help the ratings; maybe not. Still, it looks like a thoroughly entertaining hour of television.

When Bones [Fox, Mondays, 8/7C] returns on April 2, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth and forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan will welcome their first child [a girl] into the world and onto the series – but that’s not the only big news for the show, which has been picked up for an eighth season. Fox made the announcement this morning.

Happy Endings webisode #5

Webisode #5 has been recently released of the six-part Subaru Happy Endings series. For this particular webisode, it has been helmed by Casey Wilson (also known as Penny Hartz). She is most known for playing Kristen in 2010′s “Killers” staring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. Casey Wilson has also made an appearance on shows such as Borded To Death, and Retired at 35. The BBC’s first trailer for the seventh season of the rebooted Doctor Who is now available for your enjoyment. There’s a pat on the back and a cheery ‘well done’ if you can spot two appearances that harken back to the very first season of the original series back in 19 and 64.
