Fantastic review - Finally someone who can balance both the good and the bad, and feature some degree of chorency. This review was on par with Zack who does a lot on the A.V. club's TV Club. one recommendation for anyone here; do NOT go to IGN for TV reviews. Complete trash, no matter the TV show. While I didn't agree with everything you said in the review (I thought that a few episodes towards the middle of the season [not White House raid] were quite weak), that doesn't matter. Anyway, good job.

I think the finale was just a setup for the final season. Tony said this was THE bad guy - he was behind Logan, the Palmer assassination, everything. I think they didn't bring closure to it on Monday because they're gonna finish it next year. And it seemed every week was just building up and building up and each week I was going crazy waiting to see what happened. The finale was like that except now I have to wait until January.

I agree, I was into Hodges, Debaku and the rest of the characters, and even Renee Walker. I wanted the writing to go in another direction, but I guess this way was best. Oh well, I don't know if my heart can take season 8, but like everyone else I will be watching.

It worked for me as did the whole season. This season was the best ever. Farfetched YES but very exciting. I have no complaints. A big bounchback from last season when the show had alot of creative problems.

Completely agree. I felt like I was hooked through the first 18-22 hours.. and the last few hours were kinda disappointing... It felt like the writers had too many ideas to cram into too little time. In the last 8 minutes, my wife looked over at me and said, "wait, there are only 8 minutes left... how the heck are they going to bring closure in 8 minutes?"

Speaking to friends and coworkers, that seems to be the general consensus. I would say that of all the seasons, Season 7's last 15 minutes were by far the most cluttered.. the scenes with Jack in the last several episodes were perfectly written. And the scenes with Renee in the last 30 minutes were wonderfully performed by Annie Wersching. But those two themes were cluttered up by what felt like forced scenes with the President's family.. and Tony's final monologue leading to him getting shot instead of finishing what he started, ended with a fizzle..

Still rate this season on the whole as awesome: A- ... would have probably been A+ if the last 15 minutes ended with the same intensity and emotion as much of the first half of the season had.
