.... continued....

Oh, and the writers are slightly peeved that detail-oriented fans may be pointing out canonical inconsistencies and plot holes that even mediocre fanfic writers seem to avoid? Huh, imagine that! The only good thing to come out of this episode was the realization by the Winchesters that what they do and what they have to offer is important and can serve as an inspiration. That and some creative retconning to get the Colt involved again. Although as one of those detail-oriented viewers, I must wonder… why all the emphasis on the Colt? The scuffle between Uriel and Anna established that only an angel can kill another angel. (gee, there’s that darn canon again getting in the way). And Luficer is certainly an angel, fallen or not. Which brings us right back to Lucifer and Michael inhabiting Sam and Dean in that age-old television cliche of a brother vs. brother scenario. While I don’t go around blindly spouting “In Kripke We Trust”, I’m going to hope he’s got something amazing up his sleeve and not another jump-the-shark scenario. One thing is for sure -- with a 2-month winter break, there will be plenty of time to dissect the details once again.

And what you saw as a respectful shout out to gay fans, I saw as yet another wincest reference. Just as there are portions of fandom that despise spoilers, there are portions that despise wincest. The episode "The Monster at the end of the Book" did the proper shout outs to fans, not this latest disappointment which was a simple Monster-of-the-Week and yet another comedy-lite episode (don’t we have an Apocalypse to worry about?!) If I don't see another comedy-heavy episode the rest of the season, it won't be soon enough! Where “Changing Channels” succeeded so flawlessly mixing the comedy and drama, this episode simply couldn’t live up. Luckily 5.10 seems to be getting back to the drama roots of Supernatural. It’s sad to think that even Vampire Diaries has more scares, tension, and angst at this point than SPN does.

Wow, you had so many nice things to say about this episode... wish I could agree, but I can't. I don't care how bright and articulate fangirl Becky was presented as being, I find her to be an embarrassment -- at least to me. And I've had just about enough of the wincest references too. The fans I know are intelligent, educated and reserved. They've spent hours blogging and years working the grassroots efforts for ongoing promotion, not to mention the dedicated fundraising of $thousands for charity. Becky is certainly not the proper representation or "shout out" to fans like them, or myself.

SUPERNATURAL matched its best adults 18-34 (1.5/4) performance of the season, and scored its second best ratings this season in adults 18-49 (1.3/3).

The above statement doesn't say the ratings are good. It's just a spin statement that says nothing. It's like saying a candy bar is part of a nutritious breakfast. Well, that's true enough if the rest of the breakfast is shredded wheat and strawberries and skim milk. Still doesn't mean the candy bar is good for you.

Thank you for your review. It's a nice little piece, but I disagree with most of it. I think Kripke is really pissed at fans and is giving them the finger. I think Becky is a caricature. Why doesn't Sam take advantage of her obsession? Because she's neither smart nor cute. For her to believe that Sam returns her feelings (evidenced by the way she "broke up" with him) marks her as stupid.

I'm hoping Kripke has had his fill of revenge on the weirder aspect of the fandom and is ready to get back to giving us a quality Supernatural.
