Lucasfilm and Star Wars: Force for Change today announced Roar For Change, a global challenge in support of UNICEF. The initiative invites fans and families to share their own version of Chewbacca’s iconic roar. For each public post, like, or share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that includes #RoarForChange between May 3 – 25, 2018, Star Wars: Force for Change U.S. will donate $1 to UNICEF USA, up to $1 million. Funds will be used to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world.
Star Wars: Force For Change in collaboration with Omaze will launch the Star Wars “Past, Present and Future” fundraising campaign to benefit UNICEF and Starlight Children’s Foundation. The campaign is themed around the timeless appeal of Star Wars, with experiences inspired by the saga’s past, present, and future. Lucky winners will receive prizes, like the chance to appear in the upcoming Han Solo movie, tickets to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, or, an overnight stay at the fabled Skywalker Ranch.
J.J. Abrams has announced an addition to the prizes available for fans who support the Star Wars: Force For Change during its final week. Make a donation to Star Wars: Force For Change – to benefit UNICEF’s Innovations Labs – and you might win a private, hometown screening of Star Wars: Episode VII for you and twenty friends. (Bonus: if you win the screening, you will have twenty friends!)
This prize is in addition to a shot at winning a trip to the set and the opportunity to be made up as a Star Wars Universe alien and appear in a scene of the film. Visit Omaze.com for a chance to win. For further details, follow the jump and watch Abrams make the announcement from beside an X-Wing Fighter (how cool is that?).
What would you say if I were to tell you that you could win a chance to not only visit the set J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII? Now, what if I were to add that you would be a personal guest of Abrams – and that you would get to be in the movie?
Well, you can do that and more by supporting the new Force For Change Initiative to benefit UNICEF’s Innovative Labs and Programs. How? Details – and a message from J.J. Abrams, on set in Abu Dhabi (with a teensy spoiler!) – follow the jump. Check it out!
