Following the Six Days War, Israel became three times larger and gained access to its historical capitol. The government’s narrative was one of positivity and pride but not everyone agreed – including many who fought the battles.

A week after the war concluded, two men – Amos Oz (soon to be a celebrated author) and editor Avraham Shapira – recorded conversations with many of the returning soldiers about their experiences. These conversations were very candid – but the Israeli Defense Force censored them.

Censored Voices records several of those soldiers listening to their original conversations and juxtaposes these moments with newsreel footage of the conflict.

Censored Voices comes to home video (DVD and VOD), Check out the trailer after the break.
