One of the biggest surprise of last season was The Americans (FX, : a spy drama about Communist sleeper agents posing as the perfect American nuclear family. FX has released a very cool new teaser for the show’s second season. Check it out after the jump.

The Cold War Continues – FX’s The Americans Returns in February!

Philip and Elizabeth Jennings continue their attempts to undermine the United States as Russian sleeper agents in suburban Washington D.C. With the FBI coming dangerously close to exposing them – and one of their two children, 14-year old Paige, beginning to think they’re hiding something – the Jennings are finding it harder and harder to maintain control.

FX’s The Americans Promotes Nina and Martha to Regular Status!

FX’s The Americans is a risk-raking drama; after all, it’s about a pair of deep cover Russian KGB agents living in the U.S. as husband and wife – and they’ve played their roles so thoroughly that they have two children!

The Americans’ first season ended last night after taking tits unusual premise and turning it into a riveting thirteen hours of television. On Tuesday, series creator/executive producer Joe Weisberg and Co-Executive Producer Joel Fields spoke with a group of bloggers/journalists about the show’s very successful first season – including that oddly unsettling final scene.

What Just Happened? The Americans’ Noah Emmerich On Stan’s Line-Crossing Episode!

Last night, FX’s The Americans (FX, Wednesdays, 10/9C) featured Noah Emmerich’s character, Stan Beeman in a way that we’ve not seen before. With his partner, Charlie Amador’s disappearance coming on the heels of the deaths of three FBI agents and a top scientist the week before, Stan had to make some hard decisions.

Emmerich spoke with a group of journalists/bloggers for just over an hour about the episode and his character’s development over the show’s first season. If you haven’t watched last night’s episode of The Americans, you might not want to follow the jump until you have.

The Americans–No, They’re Not!

The Americans (FX, Wednesdays, 10/9C) is spy thriller in which the protagonists are Soviet sleeper agents in the eighties at the beginning of the Reagan era. Since we won the Cold War, it’s only slightly subversive to root for these Soviet spies who have been made to marry and raise children while trying to ferret out American secrets and deal with Soviet sleepers who try to defect.
