Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria is an hour longer than the original – and half as substantive.

There are certain things that are batsh*t crazy – covering Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention; diving into a frozen river, and remaking/reimaging Dario Argento’s classic giallo, Suspiria (even with Argento’s blessing).

Three Mothers Trailer: Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria!

It is almost folly to remake another director’s masterpiece. Even the result is a great film, it will always be second to the original.

Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) has remade Dario Argento’s brilliant Suspiria – and the new trailer suggests that he just might have pulled it off. (It’s certainly got the right creepy kind of vibe.)

Suspiria will open in New York and Los Angeles on October 26th before rolling out across the country.

Creepy Remake Trailer: Suspiria!

When I heard there was going to be a remake of Dario Argento’s giallo masterpiece Suspiria, I was more than a bit leery.

The first trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria – starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton – goes a long way to alleviating my worries.

Suspiria will be in theaters on November 2nd.
