Lucasfilm and Star Wars: Force for Change today announced Roar For Change, a global challenge in support of UNICEF. The initiative invites fans and families to share their own version of Chewbacca’s iconic roar. For each public post, like, or share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that includes #RoarForChange between May 3 – 25, 2018, Star Wars: Force for Change U.S. will donate $1 to UNICEF USA, up to $1 million. Funds will be used to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world.
Imagine having some fun, reciting some classic Star Wars lines…and the legendary Mark Hamill is your surprise co-star!
That was the scenario set up by Hamill on behalf of Star Wars for Change.
At the same time, he’s added a special bonus to the SWFFC sweepstakes to raise funds for UNICEF – enter this week and you could win lunch with Mark Hamill in Los Angels, along with two tickets to the pre-screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Star Wars: Force For Change in collaboration with Omaze will launch the Star Wars “Past, Present and Future” fundraising campaign to benefit UNICEF and Starlight Children’s Foundation. The campaign is themed around the timeless appeal of Star Wars, with experiences inspired by the saga’s past, present, and future. Lucky winners will receive prizes, like the chance to appear in the upcoming Han Solo movie, tickets to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, or, an overnight stay at the fabled Skywalker Ranch.
