The third season of Outlander will premiere in September, 2017. Not only that, but the series is moving production from Scotland to South Africa.
Catriona Balfe and Sam Heughan have posted a video on the show’s Facebook page bidding Scotland a fond farewell, though, as they note, Outlander will return in the future.
Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz addressed the later premiere, “While ‘Droughtlander’ will last just a little longer, we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the ‘Voyager’ book in its entirety. The scale of this book is immense, and we owe the fans the very best show. Returning in September will make that possible.”
The second season premiere of Outlander will be made available to Starz subscribers on the new streaming Starz app and Starz.com – as well as multiple on-demand and online platforms on Thursday, April 7th – two days ahead of its official preview on Saturday, April 9th (9/8C).
Starz will be hosting panels for its breakout hit Outlander and much anticipated Ash vs. Evil Dead at Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego.
The Ash vs. Evil Dead panel will take place in Room 6A in the San Diego Convention Center on Friday, July 10th at 6:00 pm. Panelists will include Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless.
The Outlander panel will take place in Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 12th at 4:00 pm. Panelists will include Ronald D. Moore, Diana Gabaldon, Catriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.
After a much speculation, it’s official – Scottish actor Sam Heughan will play Jamie Fraser in Starz Entertainment’s Outlander series. The series, from Battlestar Galactica’s Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, is based on Diana Gabaldon’s epic series of bestselling novels.
