VIZ Media has acquired the rights to release four RWBY anthology manga beginning with Red Like Roses, which centers of Ruby Rose – to be released this summer.
A second anthology, featuring Weiss Schnee, will be released later this year.
Each of the four character-focused anthologies contain more than 15 short stories by different Japanese manga creators. Bonus messages are also included from the voice actors who play the featured characters in the animated series, along with additional notes from RWBY character designer, Ein Lee, and various anthology illustrators.

In RWBY, the world of Remnant is filled with horrific monsters bent on the destruction of humanity. Fortunately, the kingdoms of the world have risen to combat these forces by training powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses at academies around the planet. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses in training.
The RWBY manga is inspired by the popular online anime-style series produced by Austin, TX-based Rooster Teeth Productions. RWBY was the first western-produced anime series to be distributed in Japan.
The single volume RWBY manga will be available in physical and digital formats on January 16th.

Fire Punch and RWBY (pronounced Ruby) are two new manga series that lead VIZ Media’s digital manga releases for January.
In Fire Punch, orphaned siblings Agni and Luna, like the Ice Witch who cursed their world, are two of the “blessed,” humans who hold special abilities. However, not all who are blessed are friendly, and after another of their kind attacks Agni and decimates the orphans’ village, Agni fights to survive, vowing revenge.
RWBY is based on the hit anime series of the same name.

VIZ Media was busy at Otakon 2017 last weekend, picking up four titles to launch in 2018.
Included are The Art of The Secret World of Arietty – art and interviews by the filmmakers at Studio Ghibli; shojo series Takane & Hane – a romance between polar opposites; shojo series The Young Master’s Revenge – a conniving boy who schemes to make a troublesome girl fall in love with him, and a RWBY prequel series.
All four will be released next year, but The Art of the Secret World of Arrietty will be print only.

The popular online anime series RWBYis coming to VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump with an ongoing series created by acclaimed manga artist, Shirow Miwa (Dogs: Bullets and Carnage).
The new series, which premieres in today’s edition of the maga anthology magazine, is actually a prequel to the anime series – Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long have yet to join the Beacon Academy.

The animated hit series RWBY – the first western anime series to be distributed in Japan – will be developed for different formats by VIZ Media in partnership with the show’s production house, Rooster Teeth.
First up will be a manga title – slated for 2017 – that reveal more about the characters while developing new storylines.
